In her previous life, Rachel developed a second identity, Nadia Penric, and decides to use her alter ego as an anonymous crime fighter - with explosive results.

While reading, I had to piece together the main character's history to make sense of what was going on and why though I found that a lot of those details seemed almost thrown in in order to wrap things up. The main character would allude to things very rarely and then near the end a few additional things were thrown in but without explaining them fully which just left me fed up.
That being said, I did enjoy the main character although it did seem difficult to pinpoint her age and life experience as she seemed to almost vacillate from wise beyond her years with amazing capabilities to an almost infantile naivete. I suppose it could be possible though it seemed a discredit to the character I assumed the author wanted to create and bring to life.
The plot line seemed highly implausible but that could also be because of how Finding Rachel Davenport started off without any further ado and right in the middle of the action. Even despite that, I did enjoy the pacing of the story as it kept my interest though I didn't believe it. So perhaps that shows that the author does have great capabilities in writing that just need some work.

Finding Rachel Davenport gave me mixed emotions. On one hand, the story was quite masterfully written, with lots of amazing descriptions which is my favorite thing about some excellent writing. However, no matter how fantastically the author brought the story to life, it just had a lot of holes in it that frustrated me. From the beginning, where the story starts off already in the middle of something super dramatic with no explanation of how it ended up there, I felt like there were a lot of things missing in setting the scene.
