Cat Lavoie Stranded on a Desert Island!

If you could only have one book with you, what would it be?

I'd probably pick a very long book that would take forever to read... perhaps The Complete Works of William Shakespeare?

What one luxury item would you want to be stranded with?

My laptop. (Might as well use all this free time to work on my next novel!)

What is the one practical item you would want to have with you to use?

A bottle of 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

Would you enjoy the solitude, even briefly, or would it drive you crazy?

I'd enjoy the solitude for a bit but I'm sure that, after a few days, I'd start talking to myself (or my new imaginary friends) and slowly go insane.

If you could be stranded with one other person, who would you want it to be?

Definitely my bestie, Mary. She's great to have around when there's a crisis and (if we're stuck on the island for a while) I don't think we'd ever run out of things to talk about.

What modern technology would you miss the most?

My iPad.

What food or beverage would you miss the most?

Lays Salt & Vinegar potato chips.

How many days do you think you would cope without rescue?

Since I'm not the outdoorsy type and I can't see myself building a shelter and hunting for food, I don't think I'd last a very long time.

What is the first thing you would do when rescued?

Hug the person who rescued me! (Hopefully, he'd be a hot fireman or similar.)

What would be your first Tweet or Facebook update upon your return?

OMG. I just had a GREAT idea for my next novel! #truestory

Zoe and the Moment of Zen

When coffee shop owner Zoey Everwood takes her obsession with ex-boyfriend Braden too far, everyone—except Zoey—is convinced a bit of fun in the sun at the Moment of Zen Wellness Resort will help her get over him once and for all.

But Zoey’s relaxing vacation turns out to be anything but peaceful when she meets Shane Lawson, a resort guest who bears a striking resemblance to Braden. And things get even more complicated when the resort’s owner starts spilling secrets about Zoey’s aunt Nessa, the woman who raised her. Add a snarky Wellness Coordinator and Nate Holmes—Shane’s grumpy friend—to the mix, and you’ve got the recipe for a perfect tropical storm.

When Zoey comes back home with a new husband instead of tacky souvenirs, she must convince everyone she hasn’t completely lost her mind. As Zoey and Shane struggle to keep the magic alive outside the resort, Zoey discovers that she isn’t the only one having trouble letting go of the past. And when Nate drops a bombshell that changes everything, Zoey must decide if the old saying is true—what happens at the Moment of Zen stays at the Moment of Zen.

  2. It was so hard to pick just one luxury item... I would have brought a suitcase of them! lol (And chapstick would have been one of those items!)

  3. Cat - fun interview. I couldn't be off the island quick enough! But being rescued by a hunk would help calm me down . . . if it didn't excite me too much!
