Single Girl Lit is the original chick lit as seen in such novels as early Marian Keyes along with the famous Bridget Jones's Diary. Often focusing on a single girl (or several of them) or a newly divorced woman, who typically lives in the big city and are primarily looking for love, and sometimes a great pair of shoes.
