Would You Rather... with Meredith Schorr

Please welcome Meredith Schorr, author of three novels: Blogger Girl, A State of Jane, and Just Friends with Benefits.

A born and bred New Yorker, Meredith Schorr discovered her passion for writing when she began to enjoy drafting work-related emails way more than she was probably supposed to, and was famous among her friends for writing witty birthday cards. After trying her hand writing children’s stories and blogging her personal experiences, Meredith found her calling writing “real” chick lit for real women.  When she is not hard at work on her current work in progress, Meredith spends her days as a trademark paralegal.  She is a loyal New York Yankees fan and an avid runner.  Meredith is the author of three published novels, Just Friends with Benefits, A State of Jane and Blogger Girl and is a co-founder of Book Buzz.

Join Meredith on November 7th for Book Buzz Toronto where she will join ten other fabulous authors for bookish mix and mingle.

Would you Rather... with Meredith Schorr

Chips, chocolate or cheese?

Cheese! (All except the kinds that smell like feet.)

Bridget Jones, Becky Bloomwood or Carrie Bradshaw?

Bridget Jones although I love all three of those characters!

Wine, beer or vodka?

Tie between wine and beer - Depends on the occasion!

Camping or spa vacation?

Spa vacation – my favorite place is The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona. And the Boca Raton Resort and Club has a heavenly “bathing ritual.” Unfortunately, I can only afford to stay at these places during work-related conventions.

Water or mountains?

Water – being on the water on a boat is one of my favorite activities, unless I am suffering from motion sickness and then it’s not fun at all.

Dogs or cats?

Dogs

Coffee or tea?

Coffee

Physical Book or ebook?

I never thought I would choose an ebook over a physical book but I absolutely prefer reading on my Kindle to reading a paperback. And I also sell way more ebooks than paperbooks and don’t want to bite the hand that feeds me!

Pen or pencil?

Pen. I should choose pencil since my handwriting is atrocious and I tend to make lots of mistakes when I hand write anything but…still pen!

Mad Men, Downton Abbey or Breaking Bad?

Downton Abbey

Twilight or Hunger Games?

Hunger Games

Lipstick, lipgloss or chapstick?

Lipgloss

Plot your entire novel or fly by the seat of your pants?

Fly by the seat of my pants!  Although I have hit walls a few times and been required to create a very broad outline.

What happens when your high school nemesis becomes the shining star in a universe you pretty much saved? Book blogger Kimberly Long is about to find out.

A chick lit enthusiast since the first time she read Bridget Jones’s Diary, Kim, with her blog, "Pastel is the New Black," has worked tirelessly by night to keep the genre alive, and help squash the claim that "chick lit is dead" once and for all. Not bad for a woman who by day ekes out a meager living as a pretty, and pretty-much-nameless, legal secretary in a Manhattan law firm.

While Kim's day job holds no passion for her, the handsome (and shaving challenged) associate down the hall is another story. Yet another story is that Hannah Marshak, one of her most hated high school classmates, has now popped onto the chick lit scene with a hot new book that's turning heads--and pages--across the land. It's also popped into Kim's inbox--for review. With their ten-year high school reunion drawing near, Kim's coming close to combustion over the hype about Hannah’s book. And as everyone around her seems to be moving on and up, she begins to question whether being a “blogger girl” makes the grade in her off-line life.
